Itās been a couple months since Iāve popped in your inbox, so I thought I would update you whyā¦and tell you whatās been going on in my life.
Forkful hit 1,000 subscribers! š“šš¼
If youāre new here, hi! Iām so happy that you have decided to join my little corner of the Internet. Forkful is a newsletter where I encourage you to ābreak up with your diet and pick up a fork.ā In the past this newsletter has had a pretty significant focus on health, but moving forward there will have more of a food focus ā with a sprinkling of nutrition and debunking still, donāt worry. Itās closely connected to what Iāve been covering for work, and for another big life transition happening in a few monthsā¦
Iām moving to London to attend Le Cordon Bleu. š¬š§š·
This is the really big scary news, so bear with me. In September, my husband and I will be packing up our lives in New York and hopping over the pond so I can attend Le Cordon Bleu. Iāll be taking classes in their wine program available through their London school, and (prayerfully) learn to become a sommelier.
OOF. THERE IT IS. Itās a big reason to why Iāve been quiet over here. Iāve been having a lot of deep thoughts about my life and what I want to do with it, especially when it comes to my career as a writer. I will always be writing, but I also wanted to pick up a new skill that would allow me to work in a different kind of environment, and maybe save my writing for the really big projects ā like this newsletter, feature articles, and my novels.
Iāve also learned that itās okay to have new dreams. My dream was to become a journalist and editor, and work in magazines in New York City. Iāve humbly achieved that by the time I hit my thirties, and it made me realize that itās okay if I want to have new dreams and goals. Itās okay to take risks and try new things. Itās okay to want to learn and grow and experience everything the world has to offer.
Yes, Iāll still be writing this newsletter. Yes, Iāll be sharing all about my journey on here. But I wanted to be honest with all of you about where Iām at, and what this newsletter will look like moving forward.
I am releasing paid subscriptions. šāØ
Because of these changes in my life, I have decided to release all paid subscriptions and remove all paywalls on my content. I wonāt have the capacity to work on a podcast or create exclusive content while I am away, so everything will be free moving forward.
This means that the pile of podcast episodes I have yet to release will be free (as well as the podcast in general), so get ready for some great free content later this summer. You can now listen to all of the episodes here.
If you are a paid subscriber of Forkful, you should have received an email about a refund. Thank you so much for being a financial supporter of my work, I appreciate you! If there was some kind of technical difficulty, please donāt hesitate to reach out.
Iām publishing more novels. šš©š»āš»
Not only did I publish my second novel Always Choosing You, but I have a third one ā The Offer ā coming out on July 25! Iām selling signed paperbacks over on Etsy, you can snag a Kindle book for $5, or read them for free on Kindle Unlimited. My novels moving forward will likely always have a very heavy food influence, so if youāre also a food lover, I have a feeling youāre going to love what I have up my sleeve for the future. š
Okay, I did the big scary thing. Now onto fun food content and sharing about all of my adventures to come. I canāt wait. š
Congratulations to your new dreams!May they all come true for you!
so excited for you!
