I’m on a mission to cook through the food I have in my pantry this year, and so far, it’s actually been kind of ideal for my lazy-a** self right now. During the winter I truly love to hibernate; eat delicious foods, sit on my couch, read books, ignore my phone. So having foods on hand that make it possible to be even lazier is honestly the dream. And, as a result, I’ve been able to discover a few new grocery favorites.
Here’s a list of the grocery products I’m loving right now. As a reminder, there are no affiliates or commissions linked to this post! It’s simply a roundup of things I’m loving lately. See any products on this list that you also love?
Laoban Pork Soup Dumplings
Soup dumplings are like the pinnacle of comfort food, and this particular brand is my new go-to. I’ll cook these soup dumplings in vegetable broth over a skillet (about 5 minutes covered) then transfer the dumplings—with some broth—to a bowl. Top with chili crips to make a spicy broth!
Purely Elizabeth Banana Nut Oatmeal
Sometimes cooking oatmeal from scratch sounds time consuming, and during the winter months, I am at least 79% lazier than normal. So microwave oatmeal it is! This particular flavor from Purely Elizabeth is my personal favorite. I love to mix in a spoonful of peanut butter and top with some blueberries.
Two Good Strawberry Yogurt
I usually crave a little something sweet in the afternoon, so a bowl of yogurt with some granola usually does the trick for me. Plus, Two Good yogurt doesn’t bother my stomach like other dairy products, so I love when I can get that boost of protein without having to take a lactose pill.
Momofuku Soy & Scallion Noodles
I’ve been on a noodle kick lately! Personally I love to toss the cooked noodles with some stir fry vegetables and crispy tofu, then top with the crisp and sesame seeds. I’ve honestly been making this meal on repeat.
Good & Gather Tikka Masala Sauce
Canned chickpeas can quickly turn into lunch with a tikka masala sauce, and I’m a fan of this one from Good & Gather at Target. I’ll heat up a jar of this with a can of chickpeas (makes about two lunches) served with some toaster naan.
Rao’s Italian Wedding Soup
Some weeks I’m in the mood to make a homemade soup. Other weeks my laziness kicks in, and a canned (or jarred) soup will do. This one with Rao’s was actually a gift from a friend (if you’ve ever read ACOTAR, you get it) and I surprisingly loved it. May stock up on a few more jars!
Purple Carrot Spinach Artichoke Cavatappi
If you are a fan of artichoke, then you’re going to love this. If you aren’t, don’t buy it. The sauce is delicious but really leans into that potent artichoke flavor—which does not bug me, but I know it’s not for everyone. I topped my bowl with grated parmesan and it was so delicious! An easy lunch to have on hand.
